Nestled within the serene environs of Hobli, Bengaluru, the Chaithanya Samarth Villa stands as an ode to timeless Indian craftsmanship fused with contemporary elegance. This 4,592 sq. ft. residential villa is a carefully stitched narrative of two contrasting visions woven into a singular, soulful home.

A Journey from Contrast to Cohesion

What began as a seemingly irreconcilable design challenge — the husband’s preference for minimal, plain, white spaces devoid of artifice, and the wife’s love for vibrant, deeply rooted colors — transformed into a harmonious masterpiece through meticulous curation. At the heart of this transformation was a singular object of inspiration: the hand-painted pooja door. Chosen and painted first, it became the genesis of the home’s color story and design language, radiating across every corner and element, from the muted textiles to the custom-crafted furniture and the thoughtfully revived antiques.

Rooted Elegance and Functional Grace

The villa’s design ethos embraces a refined palette of soft whites, warm beiges, and muted creams, creating a serene canvas that highlights ancestral artistry and modern minimalism. Architectural interventions such as the three-step coffered ceiling and custom garden lattices effortlessly reconcile spatial challenges, restoring volume and privacy while enhancing natural light and airiness.

Spaces are thoughtfully zoned to invite the outside in: an upper-floor deck, once underutilized, now pulses as a lively entertainment nook, while lush trellises softened by bougainvillaea create intimate garden retreats throughout.

Room by Room: Signature Stories

Every space within Chaithanya Samarth Villa unfolds as a chapter in a larger story.

The Living and Dining Area

The living and dining areas form the heart of the home, expansive under a breathtaking, hand-carved coffered ceiling that bathes the space in soft luminosity. Here, ivory and beige sofas, grounded in grey, invite intimate gatherings, while accents of burnt red and antique gold add a pulse of warmth. A pearl inlay and brass oval coffee table glimmers gently beside a silver-hammered console with artful gold handles and a matching carved mirror.

Family Room

Upstairs, the family room embraces both heritage and comfort — a lived-in sanctuary marked by carved teak consoles, relic brackets, and antique angel sculptures that evoke serenity. A bespoke carved library in Balinese burmateak wood forms the visual anchor, flanked by restored heirloom tables and plush leather sofas that invite repose. Custom lantern pendants scatter warm light across Shiva-inspired artwork and Naga wooden bowls brimming with greenery, folding memory and modern comfort into seamless harmony.

The staircase zone transforms transition into design poetry. Beneath it, concealed shutters with teak wood tops hide clever storage, elegantly layered with artifacts, family photographs, and planters in aged patina. The stairwell itself, lined with architectural mouldings and lit by a crystal-draped sconce and sweeping metal chandelier, rises with quiet grandeur, turning a functional connection into an experience of light and form.

Restored heritage pieces — a transformed marble lion lamp, a carved pillar turned light base, and delicately framed four-panel carved mirrors — converse effortlessly with the modern palette. The dining nook, upholstered in a luxuriant Sabyasachi floral print of gold, red, and olive, glows beneath a crystal chandelier that mirrors the sensuous red-and-gold wallpaper of the powder room beyond.

Kitchen

In the kitchens, craftsmanship meets functionality. The main kitchen, wrapped in PU-finish beige shutters and accented with a teak island, quartz counters, and carved cornices, radiates quiet sophistication. Display cabinets reveal treasured brassware, while a sculpted chimney hood crowns the ensemble. The adjoining wet kitchen continues the narrative in earthy garden-beach tones, seamlessly blending utility with elegance through its carved detailing and textural touches.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms tell more intimate stories. The guest room, alive with the glow of an orange-hued seating inspired by Kerala mural art, introduces the intricate art of artisans with rich fabric inlays — textiles drawn from the house of Ritu Kumar. The master bedroom with a regal carved teak bed, evokes earthy tranquility and grace. A dressing mirror framed from joined carved wooden brackets captures light with artisanal charm, while the third bedroom, finished in ashwood grey carved panel with white arch design, honors restful comfort and intricate craftsmanship in equal measure.

Study Room

Finally, the study room embodies quiet reflection. A full-height library wall, dotted with niches for art and travel mementos, flows into a natural woodgrain desk bathed in soft daylight. It is a space of intellect and introspection, designed as much for stillness as for inspiration.

Craftsmanship That Speaks

Scattered throughout are echoes of artisan mastery and heritage re-imagined: from hand-carved and intricately painted Pooja door, bespoke custom-made lamp base (marble, wooden, patina pots) with custom-made raw silk and velvet lamp shades,  hand-painted Kerala mural arts, hand-carved artifacts, to antique family heirlooms restored with muted finishes that celebrate lineage without overwhelming. Every artifact and textile is a deliberate brushstroke in a grand, storied composition of lived heritage infused with modern luxury.

A Palette That Breathes and Unites

The villa’s color story is a soft symphony — beige Italian marble floors underpin walls painted in tranquil neutral hues, while pops of ochre, burnt red, terracotta, and sage green subtly punctuate through furnishings, artworks, artifacts, and accessories. The tactile interplay of rich velvets, linens, raw silks, and handwoven cotton enriches the sensory experience without excess, crafting a home that truly breathes.

Beyond Design: The Soul of Chaithanya Samarth

This villa is a living narrative of individuality, legacy, and partnership. It celebrates the art of layering of colors, textures, memories, and futures, harmonizing the minimal and the vibrant, the modern and the traditional. Here, every corner invites warmth, connection, and quiet elegance, revealing a home that is as thoughtfully curated as it is deeply personal.
